POSITIVE - kind - helpful - pretty much swimming in good intentions Elaboration: The country boy who desperately wanted to be cultured--homegrown and raised on a farm but spending his childhood in books about the world outside. He's soft-spoken and almost painfully polite--raised well, a mama's boy, to the point where he's often unintentionally rude to people who are used to a more lax lifestyle. Women in particular are difficult for Theo to deal with. He was brought up a "gentleman" only to learn that in the big city, women often don't act the way you'd expect. Meeting Skylar was good for him and he's relaxed since moving to New York. Beyond that, Theo rarely raises his voice or speaks in anger, but when he does, oh, it's like a firecracker's gone off. His anger is typically cutting, sometimes witty, slipping from his mouth unbidden, and when he was younger--followed by blushing and stuttered apologies. Now, of course, he's learned for himself when he feels it's truly necessary to retort sharply to an insult. He no longer apologizes for his outbursts, either. Otherwise, a helpful young man. The type to hold the door for ten minutes straight, or help an elderly individual across the road. Everything he does seems to be done in good intentions. history
Born just outside of Magic City, Kentucky, Theo spent his entire childhood on a farm. His family grew corn and his earliest memories are of his mother showing him how to properly handle green magic, how to make the corn shiver and bow towards him, how to whisper to them so that they grew taller and stronger and fuller than anyone else's corn.
But the hedgewitch and her son grew up in a place where magic was considered vile and unholy. As a result Theo's magical education was patchy and useless for anything outside of farming.
Realising her son wasn't going to become anything in the middle of Nowhere, Kentucky, Dahlia Jepsen sent her son off to be apprenticed in New York to a certain magician named Aether. There, Theo met his granddaughter (and former apprentice) Skylar, and finally received a proper magical education.
After he completed his apprenticeship, Theo moved out of Aether's antiques store (slash castle, because you know...magicians) and into his own apartment. Although Theo never showed any particular proficiency in offensive/defensive magic or transmutation, he mastered green magic with ease, and as a result now runs a potions-making operation out of his apartment. He also does work with several magical plant nurseries, keeping their seedlings in good health and living off of the pretty decent pay of being on retainer.
Recently, he's added "marijuana farmer" to his long resume. Of course, being Theo, his strain is non-addictive, provides great highs without the negative reactions, and to some degree has helped lessen the long-term effects of the drug on the body.
Soon after moving out of Aether's house, Theo got together with Aether's other apprentice, Skylar.

Major Field(s) of Study: Herbology, Alchemy, and Healing
Elaboration: Theo learned early in life that he had an affinity for plants. When he raises them, they always seem to be brighter and bigger than others. When he walks past, they reach out for him, and when he speaks to them it seems like they listen. Either way, nobody knows how to grow plants or create potions and salves out of them quite like Theo.
As for healing, it's just a natural extension of his abilities. He works best when he's also using his homemade remedies, but in a pinch he can cast spells to knit together wounds, grow back skin, and get rid of that awful rash in your pants.
Minor Field(s) of Study: Elementalism and Spell-casting
Elaboration: Theo's never been great at the elemental arts, or even the basic magical arts. Early on his apprenticeship he was marked as a failure due to his inability to master the simplest of spells. However, persistence has allowed him to develop a respectable amount of skill in both subjects.
His preferred element is earth and he specializes in growth and creation magic. In spell-casting he typically uses Greek to shape his spells.
